With over 14 years experience in the diagnostic imaging medical field in Australia, Stephen has thrived as an appointed Radiation Safety Officer for multiple medical facilities, ranging from public and private hospitals to local dental clinics. He has extensive experience performing regular compliance testing on a wide range of imaging modalities, routinely drafted shielding specifications for both new and existing facilities whilst providing on-site inspections with builders to ensure installed shielding meets the highest standards. Stephen has also been active academically, publishing 3 seminal papers on a novel CT shielding technique that dramatically improves the effectiveness of shielding in CT suites.
With a deep interest in radiation biology and safety, he takes great pride and pleasure in educating those working with radiation on the nature and risks of their profession, and how to most effectively mitigate them.
